Speed Gets Bit: Why This New Lure Handles the Burn Better Than Your Jerkbaits & Swimbaits

We’ve all been there. You’re working a lure back to the bank, boat or pier, and you spot a shadow tracking it. It’s a big one! Instinct takes over, and you speed up your retrieve, excited and trying hard to trigger the strike. But instead of getting crushed, your lure betrays you. It loses its natural action, rolls over, and completely goes lemon. The fish turns away, and the moment is gone. Most jointed lures and swimbaits have a speed limit. When you push them, they 'blow out.' The C-Ripper is different. It was engineered to handle the burn when needed.

In the wild, baitfish don't jog. When they are being hunted, they sprint. Speed is the ultimate trigger for predatory fish.

Conventional wisdom says that when the bite gets tough, you should slow down and finesse the fish. But in clear water, out in the open, or highly pressured fisheries, time is actually your enemy. When you slow-roll a standard lure, you are giving that trophy Bass or Smoker King a perfect opportunity to inspect your lure, spot the hooks, and turn away.

This is why we see so many anglers frustrated by a follower that wont commit. To trigger a strike from a wary predator, you need to take away their ability to think. You need to turn up the speed and realisitc charm that fools that trophy, forcing it into a split-second decision. That is where the C-Ripper shines.

C-Ripper: The Jekrbait that Swims
A speedy baitfish very often forces a reaction strike from Snook, Bass, Striper, Spanish/King Mackeral, and Redfish that aren't even hungry. But there is a major problem with most jointed lures in your tackle box, especially those tested only in pools or flat freshwater lakes: they can’t keep up.

Traditional jointed baits & most swimbaits are designed for slow, rhythmic retrieves and swimming. If you try to burn them, they lose stability and surface. To catch the most aggressive fish, you need something that stays locked in no matter how fast you crank.

Here is the engineering behind why the C-Ripper exists at a glance:
⚬ Slow Sinking: 1ft Per Sec.
⚬ 4" | 100mm | 7/8oz: Ideal baitfish size
⚬ Hybrid Jerkbait/Swimbait: Best of both worlds
⚬ Tight Realistic "S-Curve" Swim Action: Consistent on any retrieve
⚬ No Blowouts: Tracks true in tough conditions and speeds
⚬ 24g Weight: Maintains great castability
⚬ Quality Finish: Scale like finish enhances visibility and look.
⚬ Internal Rattle: Sonic chambers create a unique acoustic footprint that draws fish from distance.
⚬ Includes Single Hooks: Trebles or Singles, Your choice

The Why

The C-Ripper bridges the gap between the fluid action of a large swimbait and the triggering power of a smaller jerkbait. Engineered with a controlled sinking design and a precision-molded lip, it allows you to hunt at any depth or speed without fear of blowing out and without the need for specific gear. It’s the one lure you simply have to have.

The 4-inch 100mm profile is an ideal baitfish size, while the precision jointed two section body provides a dual action ability unlike any other jerkbait on the market. We went with a refined ABS plastic in order to hit the performance marks we were after. We also Include optional BKK Lone Diablo inline hooks in the box for those that prefer and for catch and release.

The C-Ripper truly does it all. 24g of bite-sized hunting hybrid action.

Standard swimbaits or jointed lures often fail in turbulence or surf—they tend to blow out & plane to the surface when the water gets rough or reeled too aggressively. The C-Ripper solves this with its precision-angled lip and strategic weight placement, without being a heavy rock. As a sinking model, the lip is designed with an emphasis for stability and steady depth instead of diving. At only 24g, with thoughtful engineering and days of angler testing, this lure tracks true and stays pinned at your target depth—even during high-speed burns—without fouling or blowing out of the water.

The balanced weight also sees the bait fall horizontally, rather than nose-diving. This "dying fish" posture keeps the lures presentation steady when its time to retrieve. The lip design allows for straight-line swimming at the desired depth allowing you to target the entire water column.

The quality painted scale like UV Reactive finishing greatly enhances the lures visibility and overall look. An internal rattle creates a unique acoustic footprint that draws fish from distance.

How To Fish (Techniques)

On a Steady Retrieve, the lure fishes itself. No crazy rod pops needed. Simply cast, let it sink to the desired depth, and crank. It'll perform just as well sub-surface. The lures articulated tail action, seductive head wobble, and reflective scales will do the work of attracting fish and getting bit. The tail will kick on either a slow or fast retrieve. The lip design allows for any style retrieves and steady trolling regardless of depth.

Burn & Pause: Burn the lure to really activate the tight, jointed swimming action, then kill the retrieve instantly. The sudden pause allows the body to level out and slowly shimmy sink, often triggering hook-ups from following fish that can't stop their momentum.

Sharp Snaps: Similar to how many jerkbait are fished, use rhythmic, sharp rod twitches with a slow reeling cadence while taking in slack to make the lure dart erratically, mimicking an injured snack. Great for inducing skying blow ups.

Why UV Really Matters

Fish don't see the world the way we do. As water depth increases or clarity drops, standard colors lose their vibrancy and fade into the gray background.

The C-Ripper’s iridescent UV-Reactive Finish is a real difference maker. By absorbing invisible ultraviolet light and re-emitting it as a vibrant glow, these lures maintain high-contrast visibility where other baits disappear. Since the C-Ripper is a slow-sink lure, the UV coating ensures it remains visible even when counted down to darker depths.

With 24g & 4-inches of fantastic design, and bonus BKK inline hooks included in the box, the C-Ripper is ready to hunt.
